Two of the three women shot and killed Tuesday night at the L.A. Fitness Center in Collier Township were buried yesterday following funeral services. At the First United Methodist Church in Bridgeville, Pastor Josephine Whitely-Fields told mourners that you couldn't be around Heidi Overmier without laughing and "she left loving imprints on our hearts."
Later yesterday morning at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Green Tree, a funeral mass was celebrated for Elizabeth Gannon. The Reverend Francis Murhammer told those present that the gunman's heart was filled with much hatred and he turned out the lights in the aerobics room before opening fire and "since that moment our lives have been engulfed in darkness."
Visitation for third woman killed in the rampage, Jody Billingsley is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Beinhauer Funeral Home in McMurray. Her funeral will be Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin, Venango County.
