Funerals for Shooting Victims

Hundreds of people turned out last night for a prayer vigil outside the L.A. Fitness Center in Collier Township where 48 year old George Sodini shot and killed 3 women and wounded 9 others Tuesday night. The Bridgeville Ministerial Association organized the vigil that included prayer, singing and bible readings.

Friends, family members, co-workers and even strangers streamed into the William Slater Funeral Home in Scott Township yesterday to pay their respects to 2 of the shooting victims. Former Allegheny County Chief Executive Jim Roddey said Elizabeth Gannon was the "victim of a senseless act." Her loved ones gathered in one room of the funeral home and across the hall in another room, there was visitation for Heidi Overmier, a sales manager at Kennywood. Larry Russ, chief of security at the amusement park, said Heidi "had the innate ability to make everybody lover her."

Funeral services will be held at 10 this morning for Ms. Overmier at the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeville.
A funeral mass is scheduled for 11:30 this morning for Ms. Gannon at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Green Tree.

Visitation for Jody Billingsley is tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Beinhauer Funeral Home in McMurray and Tuesday at the Hartle Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services for Ms. Billingsley will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Franklin, Venango County.
